Callie
Dr Klie and Kevin were spirit sent to help with the transition of sweet Callie. I like to say that Callie was my little girl – but truthfully she touched many people’s lives. I always liked to say “Be like Callie” because she was a wonderful example of living one’s best life. Thank you to Nikki S for all of her love for Callie, and her end of life Reiki time with us. Callie Wallie Doodle was just one of her loving nicknames.
My friendship with her began when my friends Lesley and Bridget told me of a great little dog who was in foster care with a young man and his family. The man was bringing Callie to a group hike every Saturday morning – and she could run with the big dogs. Callie is a 12 lb Schnoodle. My friend John M adopted her and her journey continued. She went everywhere with him, and he shared with me that she had saved him like no other pet had. She enjoyed ten years with her Daddy. I saw her often and she knew my house and my dogs. As John made his final journey Callie came to live with me. Everyone she touched loved her. I feel honored to let her live her life mostly on her terms (she wouldn’t have it any other way). She took the copilot seat in bed at night, with my boy Justin at the foot of the bed. Then Justin passed the baton to Quinn. I liked to call Callie The Queen of Sheeba. Our friend Jon G stayed with us for a while and he built a beautiful friendship with Callie. Anytime she missed the couch she got back up and took another running jump. Jon lovingly called the less than successful attempts as Schnoodle fails. Nothing seemed to phase her. There are an infinite number of stories about her spirit and love of life.
Go easy my little big girl. I love you to pieces and I’m so happy you graced our physical lives for 5 plus years. You are always in my heart.
